This day trip for groups looks at the history of glass making and includes a live glass blowing demonstration, followed by visit to the stately Palm House in Liverpool.

The World of Glass museum documents the history of glass in the home of the famous Mr Pilkington. Enjoy the Glass Roots gallery, housing exquisite historical pieces, then head to the workshop for a glass blowing demonstration. The gift shop offers a range of beautiful artisan crafts. Don’t miss a chance to marvel at the Manchester Airport Chandelier on display.

The Palm House, Sefton Park, Liverpool

Following the glass theme, you will end your day in this
magnificent glass house. Here your blue badge guide will give some background to this magnificent glass structure.  

Sefton Park’s ‘Great Conservatory’ was a gift to the city of Liverpool by local benefactor Henry Yates Thompson. When it first opened to the public in 1896 it quickly became a popular visitor attraction. Enjoy a gentle wander around the botanical specimens and a refreshing cuppa amongst the palms.

2024 Price for 30 passengers from £31 per head. Includes:

How to book your 
group day trip 

Important information


Simply telephone us on 07748 962670 or use our enquiry form to advise which day trip you are interested in and your preferred date, with a reserve date just in case. We will then check availability of our guides and meal stops and get back to you where possible within 48 hours. 

Once we confirm your booking in writing, we will request a £100 non refundable deposit to secure the date for your group. Bookings that are not secured with a deposit cannot be guaranteed and may be cancelled.


Payment for day trips

Full cleared payment is required 4 weeks before your travel date.  bank transfers are preferred.  Sorry, we can't accept personal cheques. 

Cancellation deadlines for day trip bookings have to be made in writing up to 5 weeks before travel. At this time, you can transfer your deposit once only to another booking for your group within 6 months. You may be liable for any costs we have been committed to pay.

If you cancel up to 2 weeks before you are due to travel, you will receive a full refund less your deposit of £100 and any costs we have been committed to pay in advance.  We are unable to refund any monies for trips cancelled less than 2 weeks before travel.


Cancellation Charges
In some circumstances, there may be cancellation charges payable for trips cancelled within 4 weeks of travel. For example some hotels and guides apply cancellation charges if bookings are cancelled less than 4 weeks prior to travel. Please check with us when you receive your confirmation.

Reduced numbers for day trips

In most cases we can offer a refund for any passengers who are unable to travel, provided that you have more thanthe stated minimum number for your day trip and that you notify us more than 48 hours before you are due to travel. The refund will be less any costs we have been committed to pay. Refunds will be processed after travel
